The following a list of suggestions of weeks for the Interop. Typically an InterOp will take place in spring or in fall. This one obviously not in spring.  The finally selected week has to be marked by a green background.

Interop registration

Right now, there is no online registration available. In order to register for the InterOp you need to have a confluence account (or be a CIP4 member). In order to register, you need to click the Edit icon in the top menu. Then select the last row of the table and add a new row. After that, add the necessary information to the row. Finally, you need to save and publish the page.

To Timisoara

• By Air:

  • Airport: TSR - Timisoara Traian Vuia Airport

  • Flying companies: Lufthansa, Wizzair, Austrian, United

• Non-Air:

  • By Train: to Timisoara Nord train station

  • By Car: ask Google Maps

To Hotel

• From the Airport:

  • Public transportation:

    • E4 bus from the Airport to ‘Bastion’ station then walk 550m

    • E4b bus from the Airport to ‘Piata 700’ station then walk 500m

    • Uber (about 10 to 15 EUR expected)

    • Taxi (ask if you can pay by card, although paying EUR/USD in cash will also be just fine)

Currency & traveling documents

Traveling papers:

• Romania is in the European Union since 2007 but not yet in the Schengen space, therefore a valid ID or Passport only is required for EU citizens, including United Kingdom as well as United States of America (a Visa for non-EU citizens is needed, see Romanian Visa requirements and also check the list of countries that require a Romanian Visa) - please make all the arrangements for yourself, if the case.

Currency:

• Romania still uses Romanian RON as currency and Euro is not officially supported, but you can pay with almost any card type (credit/debt; Visa/Maestro/Mastercard; Revolut; etc…) pretty much anywhere (just ask before to be sure) and the conversion rate to RON will automatically take place.

• There are exchange offices throughout the city center with 0% commission.

  • Exchange rates:

    • 1 EUR = 4.98 RON

    • 1 RON = 0.20 EUR

    • 1 USD = 4.55 RON

    • 1 RON = 0.22 USD

Weather

Typically around +23ºC/11ºC (+74ºF/+51ºF) degrees with sunshine. Weather should be nearly perfect this time of year.
